Abstract

Occlusion-stenotic lesions of arteries of the lower limbs traditionally occupy one of the leading places in the structure of disability and mortality among the population throughout the world. According to modern literary sources, about 3% of the world’s population aged 40 to 60 years old have arterial diseases of the lower extremities. At the same time, this indicator increases to 20% among persons older than 70 years [1, 2, 3]. In addition, it should be noted that the frequency of lesions of peripheral arteries is constantly increasing, which is associated with an increasing incidence of cardiovascular diseases, as well as diseases such as obesity and diabetes mellitus.
